Inspired by W.E.B. Du Bois’ visionary infographics presented at the Exposition Universelle of 1900 revealing the structural and systemic inequalities impacting the African diaspora in America, Adjaye Associates is dedicated to annually unpacking the concept of ‘diversity’ within and through our practice.
Across Adjaye Associates’ three studios in January 2026, 81% of employees identify as POC, 65% as African/African Diaspora, and 47% as women. As we strive to cultivate an equitable practice, we are devoted to reframing and reimagining how diversity can be expanded to encompass considerations of education, class, religion, heritage, culture, age, languages, and more. We recognize that this holistic approach is not about statistics; it involves actively acknowledging the various perspectives our team brings to making space.
