The award recognises his innovative approach and global impact on architecture. The Mario Pani Award is a recognition granted by the Faculty of Architecture of the Universidad Anáhuac México. It is given to architects who stand out for their excellence in architectural design. Previous recipients include Zaha Hadid, Richard Rogers and Peter Cook.
