Bid Coordinator

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Bid Coordinator, ideally with knowledge and experience of working in an architectural practice who is confident to work both as part of a team and take initiative when required.

As Bids Coordinator you will be responsible for compiling and updating relevant bid and new business material with our Graphics and Global Communications Team and working with our Bid Manager on Bid Submissions alongside our Project Management Team and other key staff members.

A creative and analytical approach are integral parts to the role, with a competent ability to contribute to content creation and story-telling themes to promote the work of the practice.

This will be a fast-paced position, where the successful candidate will hit the ground running. Organisation and time-management skills are crucial, alongside excellent team working skills. The successful Bid Coordinator will report to the Bid Manager and New Business Manager, and work closely with the Graphics and Research teams. They will also work closely with Directors, Architects and other support staff.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Working with the Bid Manager, disseminate and generate EOI, PPQs, ITTs and lead / contribute to bid submissions and competition entries
  • Assist in the production of high-quality bid documents and new business collateral, as well as documentation and templates including project sheets, texts and staff CVs
  • Generate other development material to support new business including various reports and presentations
  • Work in collaboration with the wider Communications Team to ensure marketing materials are up to date
  • Coordinate meetings and maintain communication with subconsultants to efficiently gather necessary information for bid submissions.
  • Maintain and regularly update the bid library to ensure all information remains current and accurate.

Qualities & Skills Required

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role
  • Experience in an Architectural Practice preferred
  • Degree-level education
  • Advanced/Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite – particularly in InDesign
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure as part of a team to meet deadlines
  • The ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects at any one time
  • Able to employ logic and common sense when problem solving
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Enthusiastic and positive approach with excellent interpersonal skills with proactive attitude

Sustainability Lead

Adjaye Associates are seeking a Sustainability Lead to inform, drive and lead our sustainability ambitions and provide leadership to our team of designers across our three global offices in Accra, London and New York. As this is a global position, applications are welcome from those who are local to either our Accra, London or New York office.

The ideal candidate will have a background in sustainability and architecture for an integrated approach to design and research.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and lead our strategic sustainability objectives
  • Advise and guide on how we can operate more sustainably as a practice, and in our firm culture.
  • Develop and implement policies and guidance to support sustainable design
  • Create and maintain sustainability resources for our teams to use
  • Act as a source of knowledge for the studios, providing/sourcing expert advice around sustainability in design
  • Stay up to date with current legislation and actively research changing legislation that impacts sustainable design practices
  • Establish targets, monitor and reduce Adjaye Associates environmental impact
  • Environmental assessments of projects, producing cohesive assessments and reports to share with key stakeholders
  • Develop and implement sustainability tools for our project teams to use.
  • Lead regular project reviews and assessments
  • Support project teams to produce sustainable design strategies and systems
  • Input to PR, marketing and bid activities in regards to sustainability
  • Engage and participate in sustainability focused activities within the wider construction industry
  • Lead the ISO:14001 Sustainability Group, ensuring continued success at certification.

Essential Skills:

  • Masters degree in Sustainability, Architecture or related field
  • Sustainability qualifications such as LEED, BREEAM etc preferred but not essential
  • Minimum 5 years working at a senior level in the field of Sustainability and Architecture (or related field)
  • Global understanding of legislation in relation to sustainability and the environment
  • Thorough knowledge of sustainable design strategies including technologies and materials
  • Self-motivated with intellectual curiosity and a passion for design, the environment and sustainable practices.
  • Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects at any given time.
  • Experience with project performance analysis
  • Experience leading/contributing to initiatives such as ISO:14001, BCorp, Net Zero
  • Experience working with Senior Leadership teams to deliver company objectives
  • Ability to lead, train and mentor others successfully
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
