Communications Assistant

Adjaye Associates seeks to hire a Communications Assistant to join a global team of writers, graphic designers, marketing/new business professionals and architects responsible for communicating the studio’s portfolio of works with a focus on our civic, cultural, and educational projects. The successful candidate will work with the global team coordinating day-to-day communications tasks internally between team members and externally with clients and media contacts. This position will report to the Global Head of Communications.

Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitor press mentions and produce daily round-up of relevant coverage.
  • Develop channel specific content and track social media performance across channels and produce monthly analytic reports.
  • Possess the ability to develop a strong knowledge of Adjaye Associates imagery and current projects.
  • Develop/draft/format content for internal and external communication channels such as newsletters, award submissions, videos, lunch and learns, speaking notes, bios, presentations, brochures, invitations, bid documents, surveys, office templates, and marketing materials.
  • Prepare documents necessary for the distribution of information such as InDesign presentations and checklists.
  • Oversee daily intranet postings and updates.
  • Stay informed about industry news and flag issues and trends to the Communications team, in a timely manner.
  • Monitor press inbox, track press request, and event requests.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Qualification or experience in communications, marketing, public relations or related field preferred.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a marketing/social media position, preferred
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Background/experience within the AEC industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube) usage and functions to ensure content is utilized to maximum efficiency.
  • Ability to develop the right voice, curate and write content differently for each social media platform.
  • Knowledge of social media marketing tools such as Later, HootSuite, Buffer, or similar.
  • Ability to deliver analytic reports via Google Analytics, Later social media channels or similar.
  • Knowledge of website management tools such as WordPress, Squarespace or similar.
  • Skilled at managing multiple tasks simultaneously across different time zones.
  • Ability to plan and manage events, from team meetings and offsites to media events.
  • Is meticulous in attention to detail in handling accounts, communications and schedules, often under deadline.
  • Is able to work cross-functionally with various global teams.
  • Must be a flexible, high-energy team player with a commitment to high-quality deliverables.
  • Evidence of the ability to practice a high level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
