Kofi Bio is the Chief Executive Officer of the Accra studio, where he oversees all projects across Africa. With over a decade of experience working alongside David, Kofi has been integral to the success of numerous high-profile projects both in Africa and globally. He initially started his career in the London studio, where he played a pivotal role in the completion of significant international projects, including the Aishti Foundation in Beirut, a dynamic mixed-use arts and retail building, as well as projects for Plumtree Court and Tishman Speyer, shaping some of the firm’s most iconic works.

In 2017, Kofi, alongside David, led the establishment of the Accra studio, a strategic move aimed at expanding the firm’s presence across Africa. Since its opening, Kofi has been instrumental in driving the realization of key projects such as The Bank Square, the new headquarters of the Bank of Ghana located in the capital city of Accra; the Museum of West African Art (MOWAA) Institute, a state-of-the-art secure facility dedicated to the preservation of heritage, expansion of knowledge and the celebration of West African arts and culture, located in Benin City, Nigeria; The District Hospitals, a series of 101 hospital facility campuses across Ghana.

Under Kofi’s leadership, the Accra studio has grown significantly, with a strong focus on integrating sustainable development, cutting-edge technologies, and vernacular design into projects across the African continent. His efforts have helped secure major projects in South and East Africa, positioning the firm as a leader in the region’s evolving architectural landscape.

As CEO, Kofi is responsible for overseeing all Africa-based projects, ensuring their successful delivery from conception to completion. He offers strategic advice on a broad range of aspects including contractual arrangements, trade contractors, market trends, commercial strategies, project programs, design scopes, fees, and payments. Kofi’s extensive experience and deep understanding of both local and international markets make him a key figure in shaping the future of architecture in Africa. His commitment to sustainable design and his expertise in navigating complex commercial and contractual environments continue to drive the studio’s growth and success across the continent.
